Building Homes, Restoring Lives, and Strengthening Dallas.
At My Brother’s Keeper Housing, we believe a past doesn’t define a future. We transform distressed properties into vibrant homes for justice-involved veterans and individuals, providing the stability and support needed to turn a new leaf and thrive in the community.
Our Mission (The Why)
Breaking the Cycle of Recidivism
Every year, thousands of individuals transition from the Texas Department of Corrections back into our communities. Without a stable place to call home, the risk of homelessness and recidivism is high. MBKH bridges this gap. By partnering directly with the TDCJ, we identify those most in need—specifically our veterans—and provide them with a safe, dignified environment to rebuild their lives.
What We Do (the How)
Multi-Tiered Assistance

Property Revitalization
We take distressed properties in the Dallas area and renovate them into high-quality housing. We aren’t just fixing houses; we are healing neighborhoods and creating spaces where our residents can feel pride in where they live.

Vocational Training & Employment
True independence comes from self-sufficiency. We collaborate with local organizations to provide hands-on vocational training. Once our residents are skilled and ready, we leverage our network of local business partners to place them in meaningful jobs that offer a livable wage and a career path.

Comprehensive Support & Transportation
Success requires being in the right place at the right time. We remove the barriers to reentry by providing reliable transportation to:
– Mandatory check-ins and medical appointments.
– Work sites and job interviews.
– Essential grocery and pharmacy trips.
– Support groups and 12-step meetings.
Why It Matters (The Impact)
A Legacy of Service for Our Veterans
Our veterans served us; now it is our turn to serve them. MBKH prioritizes those who have worn the uniform, ensuring that no veteran who has paid their debt to society is left to navigate the challenges of reentry alone or on the streets.
